Custom Home Paintings

These were both thoughtful gifts. Always a treasured memento to remember the walls that hold so much of our days.

Charming little home in Maine

Just finishing up a sweet little cottage up in Maine. I have heard their Autumn months are worth the visit. Perhaps we'll have to arrange some plans. I love the simple structure to the house and imagine whisperings of the tide steady in the distance.

Homes from last Christmas

There were a couple Christmas gift requests last year for homes to be documented. One of them was for a previous client in who's home hangs one my my most favorite paintings I sold and shipped down to Austin, TX a few years back.  Another is a dear friend's family home she grew up in that had since been sold. Her parents dreamed of building it together when they were in high school.

A Spool of Beauty

Out on a morning jog I found 2 old wooden spools. I looked them over, connected loosely with an old metal rod, and continued on my run. I played them over and over in my mind, "could I do anything with it?" And this is somewhat the image that came to mind. I knew my in-laws were needing a new coffee table for their downstairs to better match the media center I had built them 2 years ago. So I put to work before Thanksgiving (I know this is quite a belated post) to have it down prior to the holiday so that we could transport it down to them. I am in love with how it turned out that,.....I may just make the other for us!

Grey and Wood Antique Buffet

Before:
After:

Grand Grey Distressed Antique Wooden Buffet on Caster Wheels. This piece has such hidden charm from the mini mirror on the top back to the long low top drawer, french legs, remnants of exquisite trim, and even an optional resurfaced wooden silverware organizer that can be removed if necessary. I stripped her down and painted a grey milk paint wash over her, and distressed her back down for a well loved and worn look. the natural dark wood compliments the subtle grey in such an elegant color palette. Most of the hardware is original and cleaned up a bit to show through some silver hints, so I chose 2 silver wired knobs for the 2 cabinet doors. Two of the middle drawers are lined with an muted yellow regal animal paper.

Dimensions are as follows:

5 feet wide
4 feet tall with mirror, (40 inches tall without the mirror attached.)
22 inches deep

The season of gifting and creating

A fishing sketch with the topographic map of Steamboat Springs, Colorado and the prospective ski runs for a Fishing-Officiando turned Ski lover.

Two of the home sketches for friends of their 'first homes'

And a personal favorite, old discarded fence wood turned EAT lettering to don the kitchens of some of my favorite little chefs.
